Chandeliers

Chandeliers are often used in Dinning Rooms and Kitchens to accent a table or other eating surface. In larger homes with higher ceilings, customers may want to use a chandelier in a bedroom or a living room as well. Pendant chandeliers (shown here) are used above stairs and in split-level foyers, while large chandeliers grace elegant two-story foyers.

Chandeliers with upward facing lights provide more ambient light and are typically considered a more formal choice for a dinning room.
Chandeliers with a downward facing design are better for task lighting, are considered informal, and are typically used in kitchen settings.

When looking at the size of a chandelier in a catalog, understand the following terms :

Height - The distance from the top to the bottom of the fixture, not including the chain (which can be adjusted easily)

Overall Height - The total length from the top to the bottom of the light, including the chain. Most fixtures come standard with at least 3’ of chain.

Diameter
- The width of the fixture.

Many factors should be considered when choosing a light fixture.
