Sizing a chandelier has been a mystery to most people their entire lives, but the madness stops here! To size a chandelier for a TABLE TOP application (i.e. when a chandelier is directly above a table), simply take the width of the table and subtract 9". This will be your maximum width.
For example, a standard table at 41" wide would require a chandelier up to about 32" wide. Remember that this is an estimation, and of course you are more than able to use 33" in certain situations, or conversely you can go smaller as well (but not too small, stick to about 25" as your minimum). Some people prefer to add the WIDTH of their room to the LENGTH of their room to get this estimate, but this forumla falls short for odd-sized rooms which are either very long or very wide. Since the chandelier is an ornament of the table, we prefer to use the table size to determine the width. Its Easy!
So WIDTH OF TABLE - 9" = Maximum Width Of Chandelier
